Pickelball
Pickleball is a paddle sport played either indoors or outdoors between
two teams of one or two players. The game combines elements of
tennis and badminton but differs in that it has a non-volley zone. Pickleball is played as
singles or doubles.
Who’s at fault?
A fault can occur when:
The ball touches down
out-of-bounds
The ball does not go
over the net, hits a pole
or a person,
The ball bounces twice
before being hit
If the receiver faults first,
the server gets a point and
the players switch sides.
Gameplay:
The ball is served diagonally, across court, beginning with the
player on the right. A double bounce rule applies to the first
two returns.
The serving player continues to serve until they or their team
faults, and points are only awarded to the team serving.
Both the player receiving the serve and the server’s side must
allow the ball to bounce before hitting it.
First team to eleven points wins.
Both players on the serving doubles team have the
opportunity to serve and score points until
they commit a fault *(except for the
first service sequence of
each new game).
